A MICHELIN Moment at Mustheb
The Michelin symbol stands for exceptional culinary artistry. A Michelin star signals more than just fine dining — it’s a recognition of skill, creativity, and unwavering commitment to quality. Kitchens that earn one are known for their precision, personal flair, and the kind of consistency that makes a visit truly memorable.
Against this backdrop, it’s a remarkable moment for the Outer Hebrides that four leading chefs with Michelin experience recently visited Lewis and Harris — shining a well‑deserved spotlight on our islands’ growing culinary spirit.
I felt deeply honoured that Sam Carter of Restaurant 22 in Cambridge, Simon Hulstone of The Elephant in Torquay, Chris Rowley of Ballintaggart in Aberfeldy, and Adam Smith of Woven by Adam Smith in Ascot took the time to stop by the mustard station to taste my creations.
They listened closely as I shared how much patience, care, and time go into each batch — and why selecting the finest organic ingredients matters so deeply to me.
A heartfelt thanks to Fiona Richmond, Head of Regional Food at Scotland Food & Drink, and Julie Sloan, Project Manager for Food, Drink & Tourism Development with Visit Outer Hebrides, for making these inspiring connections possible.
