Mustard Ragout

Your mustard maker loves mustard ragout and that's why I have to put this quick and easy recipe online for making your own mustard ragout.

 

I know, you hardly need to write a recipe for it. As quickly as the ingredients are thrown together. It takes longer to type these lines. But I'd like to share it with you anyway. Maybe there are others who have the same vice as me.

 

Ingredients

  • 120 g mustard of your choice (I like the Bonnie Wholegrain or a mix of Bonnie and Sweet Delight or 8-Pepper-Cèilidh)
  • 60 g gherkins
  • 60 g onions
  • 1 dash of vinegar (or use the gherkin water)
  • 1 tsp of oil
  • optional: 1/2 red chilli pepper (which you don't do if you are using the Infernal Bliss)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Chop the peeled onions and gherkins very finely with a knife. You can also use a food processor, but be careful, the onions could become bitter. Mix it together with the mustard, vinegar and oil of your choice.   Season to taste with salt and pepper. That's it!
